The first meeting of representatives of cultural and educational organizations, teachers of the German language from schools and universities of Novosibirsk took place in the German hall of the Novosibirsk Regional Library. The event was organized at the initiative of Sonia Denning, head of the Central Bureau of School Education Abroad, and Tatyana Molodtsova, an employee of the information center of the German Academic Exchange Service (DAAD).

The meeting was attended by the Consul General of the Federal Republic of Germany in Novosibirsk Bernd Finke, Consul Attache for Cultural Affairs Gerrit Rosing, Director of the Goethe Institute in Novosibirsk Per Brandt.

A.Yu. Zhivotreva, Senior Lecturer at the Department of Foreign Languages, represented the Siberian Institute of Management, a branch of RANEPA. She told about the study of German at SIM RANEPA and the long-term partnership with the Landshut-Novosibirsk Friendship Society. Due to this partnership, 65 students of SIM RANEPA had the opportunity to undergo a three-week internship in the local government of the Landshut region (Bavaria).

Representatives of the Consulate General, the Goethe-Institut, and other German educational and cultural organizations expressed their willingness to support teachers of the German language and students studying German in organizing and holding cultural events, language training, and student practice.

It is planned to hold such meetings regularly to exchange experience and information, discuss topical issues and organize joint large-scale events. The next meeting is due in October 2021.
